Stevie Nicks Thanks Santa Rosa Firefighters

At the recent FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles, legendary singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Santa Rosa Fire Department for their courageous efforts in saving her Pacific Palisades home during the Palisades Fire. Nicks, who had to evacuate during the fire, credited Santa Rosa firefighters for their relentless dedication in protecting not only her residence but also the surrounding community.

This acknowledgment highlights the unwavering commitment of Santa Rosa Firefighters Local 1401, who, alongside their fellow firefighters from Professional Firefighters of Sonoma County Local 1401, continue to answer the call—whether it’s battling wildfires across the state or responding to emergencies right here in Sonoma County. Their experience on the front lines of some of the most devastating wildfires in history, including the Tubbs, Glass, and Kincade Fires, has reinforced the importance of adequate staffing and the need for rapid response when disaster strikes.

“The dedication and hard work exhibited by our firefighters are truly commendable,” said Matt Tognozzi, President of the Professional Firefighters of Sonoma County Local 1401. “Their unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, whether here at home or in distant communities, exemplifies the spirit of service that defines our profession.”

Stephan Dalporto, Affiliate Director of Santa Rosa Firefighters Local 1401, emphasized that their mission remains the same no matter whose home is at risk. “Santa Rosa firefighters know all too well the devastation firestorms can bring to a community. It doesn’t matter if it’s Stevie Nicks or any other resident—our firefighters will do whatever it takes to protect lives and property. That’s what we’re here for.”

The recognition from Stevie Nicks serves as a reminder of the critical role that well-supported and adequately staffed fire departments play in keeping communities safe. As wildfires continue to threaten California, the Santa Rosa Fire Department and Local 1401 firefighters remain committed to providing the rapid, professional, and courageous response that every community deserves.
